In the beginning there were 3 best friends, Carrie, Melanie & Diana, who decided during an annual Christmas tradition of theirs to start giving rather than just receiving. For years they would meet in San Francisco in December to exchange gifts, go shopping and then toast the holidays. Realizing just how lucky they were to have each other and gifts to share, their conversations turned to the less fortunate and people suffering around them and they decided to give back.
The following year they got together to make gift bags for the unhoused in San Francisco. The bags contained much needed supplies, gift cards to Subway and amazing homemade cookies, a taste of home, and what the friends hoped would be a reminder that they were not forgotten. This project began to be the focus of their annual get together and grew larger every year!
In 2021 Carrie was diagnosed with breast cancer and the annual tradition was put on hold while Carrie received treatment. Sadly, after a hard fought battle, Carrie passed away in June of 2023. Her spirit of giving and caring is still very much alive among those left behind and in her honor and with her drive and passion at the heart of the project, the Carrie On Foundation was born.
Carrie loved and lived in Solano County and we will carry on her “Hearts for the Homeless” labor of love here in her local community.
A commitment to serving underprivileged individuals and communities, creating a world where necessities are accessible to all. We strive to make a positive impact on the lives of those we serve.
Donate $50.00 to fill a CarrieON bag for one un-housed individual.
